Gundam Plastic Model 101
March 29, 2007Decks of MG Kit stacked beside my bed.
Ever wonder what does HG, HGUC, MG & PG means ? Or ever heard of gunpla ? Gunpla = Gundam Plastic Model.
Comes in a few grade.
HG means High Grade (mind you its not Hard Gay), HGUC means High Grade Universal Century, MG means Master Grade & PG means Perfect Grade.
HG & HGUC is gunpla that has no internal skeleton. But over the years the detail of HGUC kits has improved alot but still it does not have internal skeleton.
MG is the first gunpla that incoorporates internal skeleton. After that PG were introduced the difference of MG & PG is PG has more details, more articulations to the finger of the "manipulators" aka hand. Of course PG is more expensive. 1 price of a PG kit can buy about 4 pieces of MG kits.
In term of scale, MG is always at 1/100 , HG & HGUC at 1/144. Lastly for PG its 1/60.
Which line is good ? Personal preference it will be MG. Also new lines of HGUC starting from Titans Hazel has good articulation but still as a HGUC kit it does not has internal skeleton.
Lastly, to name a few other Gundam line is MSiA, GFF & Zeonography.
The only 2 GFF I had, left on my desk & unopen
